The Middle East Buddy List
The Middle East is a very confusing place. As an ignorant American of most affairs relating to the Middle East it sure is hard to figure out who likes whom and who doesn’t. Luckily for us, the wonderful poeple at Slate.com have uncovered the Middle-Eastern Mysteries for us and provided a rather informative chart. Click on a square to get some in-depth information regarding the ‘relationship’ between the parties involved. Many thanks to Christopher Beam and Noam Rudnick–the guys at Slate.
If the link to slate ever goes down, I’ve mirrored it here.

I like this little picture… it helps a little, but I won’t remember it tomorrow. Something is always new over there.
BTW… If I can’t survive Texas heat, how am I to survive Dubai heat? To visit would be interesting though.

Very cool, interesting, informative. Wish I could remember the content…. too many beers in college.
An interesting facet is how will these times be represented in the highschool history books? Our books detailed WWI, WWII, Korean Conflict, and Vietnam. The Russians were our traditional enemies. Now it’s a new ballgame.

They all hate Isreal and the West. All other conflicts are pretty trivial.
