Fire that sh*t up!
I’m only kidding. I don’t condone doing anything illegal-especially amidst the “war on drugs”. Besides, I wouldn’t want to be considered a terrorist.
Anyway, cnn.com is reporting a story about how marijuana may stave off Alzheimers.
Researchers at the Scripps Research Institute in California found that marijuana’s active ingredient, delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC, can prevent the neurotransmitter acetylcholine from breaking down more effectively than commercially marketed drugs.
THC is also more effective at blocking clumps of protein that can inhibit memory and cognition in Alzheimer’s patients, the researchers reported in the journal Molecular Pharmaceutics.
I’m not for doing illegal drugs, but this sounds interesting. I guess when enough groups of scientists test marijuana for enough things, it’ll eventually find *some* legitimate use.

I believe they do make a marijuana substitute in a pill form that serves the good qualities of the drug, but doesnt seem to be acceptable to the masses.
in a related story - man burns himself trying to light a pill while it is in his mouth. You have to know you bob and tom for that one

The problem largely as I understand it with Marinol is the onset is slow, and not really able to be adjusted to each persons needs.
Smokers can smoke just enough to just have the effect with out being completely wasted for two hours.
