CIA fires officer over classified leak
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The CIA said on Friday that it has fired an intelligence officer who acknowledged leaking classified information about the spy agency’s operations to the news media.
Interesting. What happens when the President of the United States authorizes the leak of an undercover CIA Operative? Can we fire him?

Finally you posted about this! The President shouldn’t not have immunity over this matter, he authorized it, and therefore should be punished as well.
However, there are many questions to be asked about this, such as:
Was knowledge of her work needed to be kept secret? The debate still lingers of that, and if it needed to be kept secret, because her last mission was in 1997 I believe.
Next, how many people actually learned and let this all slid through the cracks to a reporter?
Finally, what has she had to say about this, and her identity and job been affected by this?

There seems to be to many people telling a different story on this.
What Should the punishment for the president be in this matter?

The president? IDK depends on if leaking the information was such a risk to the agent? If it wasn’t, then nothing, if it was, then he should possibly step down. That is harsh, but leaking information from our own president is a huge deal and in my perspective makes him a traitor.

It was my understanding that Mrs. Plame has not been in service since 1997. If that is the case then it wasnt exactly risky. I do have to say that I havent followed this issue very closely.
At least people who disagree with President Bush arent ending up dead like was the case with our former President.

If this was the only shady issue Bush was involved in… I’d say, “Tighten your policies!”. but that boy should be fired for a 100 other reasons.
