Captain Kirk afraid of space travel
In a devastating blow to trekkies everywhere, Captain Kirk (aka William Shatner) revealed he would not take Richard Branson (of Virgin) up on his offer to go to space. Apparently Shatner is afraid he’ll toss his cookies up there:
The 75-year-old actor said: “I’m interested in man’s march into the unknown but to vomit in space is not my idea of a good time. Neither is a fiery crash with the vomit hovering over me.”
Computer, I’ll have a raktagino.

Your suck a geek sweetie… but I can understand why William wouldn’t go. I mean afterall, space shuttles aren’t exactly the safest of flight options now a days with all the accidents that have happened lately. I love William Shatner though, not from his work as a space nerd, but from his work on Boston Legal… for a 75 year old, he seems awefully sexy in that t.v. show! I think its his attitude.

Actually Virgin has not had an accident yet. All safe journey’s so far.
The point of the story though is that the characters people play in TV and Movies seem to become who they are, and here is one the greates space travelers of all time, scared of flying to the greater depths

Although virgin may not have had any crashes yet, other space shuttles have in NASA… so I can see and very clearly understand his fears, I wouldn’t go either. An airplane is one thing, a space shuttle is something completely different. Does anyone else watch Boston Legal???? Its an awesome show.

Never watch Boston Legal, but I’m a devoted Trekkie.
I don’t blame Shatner for not wanting to go, but hopefully space travel will be routine by the time we’re all his age (and safe at that).
I’d love to go up!
Did anyone see the Shatner roast on Comedy Central a few weeks ago?
Laughed my ass off!

What virgin has isnt a NASA like Space Shuttle. Its a weird super aerodynamic plane that soars into space, and comes back. this jet is not straped to two huge contraptions of Rocket fuel.
I wouldnt go though, But I am not captain Kirk.

I watched the roast. It was hilarious. As for the blast on the virgin rocket (didn’t we all do that as teenagers???)… I’d do it in a heartbeat. It’s not like the shuttle. It’d be effing awesome.
Shatner is Kirk. I don’t care about TJ Hooker, Priceline, or Boston Legal.
