Ze Frank is Funny!

Ze Frank is Funny
Ze Frank
is damn funny. He’s probably the best Vlogger online.

I’ve been watching “The Show” since inception and it has been a wild ride. “The Show” is what Ze calls his daily vlog. It’s a fast-paced rundown of local and world news, and pretty much whatever else Ze wants to talk about.

One of the things I love about “The Show” is how sophomoric it can be at times, and other times be so incredibly witty and inspiringly-intelligent.

So, start watching the show and if you hear “Are they gone yet?” know that he’s talking about you, the new viewer.

Sit back, make a world sandwich, join the ORG, make a chess move, come up with a power move, and don’t become a hard-charger. Ze will do the thinking, so you don’t have to.

Wikimapia!

WikiMapia is a project to describe the whole planet Earth. Just move the map to find interesting places and click on rectangles (Like Flickr). To add an interesting place or object use “Add New link”.

Wikimapia was created by Alexandre Koriakine and Evgeniy Saveliev, inspired by Google maps and Wikipedia.

I’m having a blast looking at Dallas, TX on the map. Check it out. You might be surprised to see what’s been wikimapped. Click the image to see my first contribution.

FC Dallas wins 4-1 against Colorado Rapids

July 30th, 2006

FC Dallas wins 4 to 1 against RapidsI had a load of fun this weekend. I finally got to go back on the pitch and photograph a soccer game. This weekend’s action included a 4-1 win by FC Dallas over the Colorado rapids. Nunez scored twice in 5 minutes–it was nuts after that goal. The image to the left shows the team celebration after the goal. (Picture taken by yours truly)

From mlsnet.com:
Bobby Rhine had given FC Dallas an eighth-minute lead, but Kyle Beckerman pulled the Rapids level in the 34th minute. Then Nunez scored in the 71st and 74th minutes — the first on a rebound, the second directly from a free kick — to give the Hoops the advantage. Kenny Cooper scored in stoppage time to put the game away.

After the FC Dallas game, Everton took the field. It was certainly fun watching them play. The crowd really got into the game.

I may post more photos of this game later. They may show up on 3rddegree.net as well.

ramdac.org goes to Wordpress

July 29th, 2006

Well, you might have noticed a change. It was a hard decision to make, but I moved over to Wordpress. My old site had been limping along for quite some time. I wrote the old site completely from scratch before there were cool publishing tools like Nuke, Postnuke, or cooler things like Wordpress.

My old site had problems:

  • People sometimes couldn’t post.
  • My HTML didn’t exactly pass validation
  • My code was crap. I didn’t use any design pattern really, and it was hard to track where things were sometimes.

So, That’s why I switched. I like wordpress’ user-community and I like the admin interface to the website. It’s also really nicely designed and the theme engine is pretty nice.

No worries folks, I’ll try to make this one feel just like the old one. It just might take a bit though. Thanks for your continued support of this site. Get to the comments people!

The Middle East Buddy List

July 27th, 2006

The Middle East is a very confusing place. As an ignorant American of most affairs relating to the Middle East it sure is hard to figure out who likes whom and who doesn’t. Luckily for us, the wonderful poeple at Slate.com have uncovered the Middle-Eastern Mysteries for us and provided a rather informative chart. Click on a square to get some in-depth information regarding the ‘relationship’ between the parties involved. Many thanks to Christopher Beam and Noam Rudnick–the guys at Slate.

If the link to slate ever goes down, I’ve mirrored it here.

John Kerry should keep quiet

July 27th, 2006

John Kerry took time to take a jab at the Bush administration for its lack of leadership in the Israeli-Lebanon conflict this weekend when he said “If I was president, this wouldn’t have happened.” Perhaps it’s noteworthy to mention he was at Honest John’s bar and grill in Detroit’s Cass Corridor.

I’m guessing he had one too many 6-packs of beer. He wins douche of the month. I can’t believe he really thinks if he were president, he would have been able to keep this from happening. This is what I hate about some Washington Politicians– They think they’re the savior come to wash away the sins and worries of the world. Go back to your beer, Kerry.
