Rosie O and Star Jones - SUMO TAG TEAM

April 28th, 2006

Don’t click. This is as large as it gets

Not that anyone watches The View on ABC or even cares about it, but apparently they’re getting rid of Meredith Vieira and replacing her with Rosie O’Donnell.

There’s a saying…. “At first you don’t succeeed try, try again. I guess Star Jones wasn’t fat enough for the show. They had to go and raise the fat-level w/ Rosie. Replacing Meredith with Rosie is like trading in a nicely built compact-car for a 747 Jumbo-jet. Not only is it a great deal larger, but it’s also a hell of a lot louder (and burns quite a bit more gas in the process).

It’ll be interesting to see which Jumbo-Jet is louder, Rosie or Star.

CIA fires officer over classified leak

April 21st, 2006

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The CIA said on Friday that it has fired an intelligence officer who acknowledged leaking classified information about the spy agency’s operations to the news media.

Interesting. What happens when the President of the United States authorizes the leak of an undercover CIA Operative? Can we fire him?

Amazon.com and Abortion/Adoption

April 12th, 2006

I found out through Ze Frank (www.zefrank.com) that if you type in the word “abortion” in the search box at amazon.com, it would ask if you meant “Adoption”. That was true until 3/21/2006. A spokesperson for Amazon said that the prompt appeared because adoption/abortion were the same except for two keystrokes. Users who type in “Abortion” will still see “adoption” in the related searches area, while users who type in the word “adoption” will not see “abortion” in the related searches area.

Very interesting, Amazon.

Dallas, this weekend / Immigration Thoughts

April 11th, 2006

Dallas was an interesting place this weekend. It was estimated that over 500,000 people protested on Ross Street. I half wish I was downtown on Sunday so I could have taken pictures of it. It would have been spectacular. I was elsewhere. My girlfriend and I were at the Trader’s Villiage in Grand Prairie (a suburb of Dallas). For those who thought all the hispanic people were downtown, you’re wrong. It just goes to show how much of a presence they have in this area. The picture above shows you what it looked like at Trader’s Villiage this weekend.

The two top Republicans in Congress, confronted with internal party divisions as well as large public demonstrations, said Tuesday they intend to pass immigration legislation that does not subject illegal aliens to prosecution as felons. GOOD. This country was founded by immigrants. Why should we start closing the door?
