There are bigger fish to fry
I’m continually hearing that the Democrats should attack the people who promote “Republican Values” as phonies, hypocrites, and liars.
How in the world can they? They float in the same boat. Kiss ass at the same parties, and live high on the hog with their own Socialism
paid for by us, but most of all, they believe in the same Religion: Power, Greed and Greenbacks. The Democrats up on el grande Hill have
laid down like whipped dogs, tucking their tails between their legs and begging for an offered scrap. Don’t look to them for answers or help. Sure, there might be a few here and there, but instead of being backed up by their own, they are told to back down. Kerry went to
Baghdad this January: “I’m here to make judgments about what moves are available to us.” What a joke. He’s going to tell Bush and his band of NeoCon Hombres what to do about Iraq? He’s got the power of a floundering fish. Unless the world turns upside down, and grass starts growing on the poles and he is sworn in as President instead of Cowpoke George on January 20. . .well, you get the picture. This is Fascist
America now folks. Get in the swing. Get comfortable. . .Relax-Ay-Voo. Get used to it. Until it gets so damn bad that folks can’t bear another minute and take up arms, you’re going to have to live with it. If we’re lucky, the Idiot Cowboy, the Smirking Monkey, the Shrubulator will self-destruct, and I think he might, but…it’s not all about Bush. It’s the NeoCons who have grabbed the power. The
NeoCons pull the strings, the Idiot Cowboy just grinds his jaw, smirks, quips, winks, points, and does his dance. Once the top positions have been filled with the shakers, the movers, the new Reich - with the help of the Democrats who put them there without a cry, a whimper,
and nary a protest, the country’s fate will be sealed, for a good long while to come. The PEOPLE of this country let this happen. All wrapped up in ourselves and our possessions - big screen TV’s and video games, the newest big boy toys, the newest cars and endless mindless
pursuits. No time for anyone but ME. Fill our brains up with trash and laugh at the truth. Fill our bodies with the good times of dope and booze. Fill each other with incurable sexual maladies, as we mindlessly hump away the boredom. Brains are for computers and making
money…NOT for thinking, analyzing, smelling the air to see what’s burning over yonder. It’s a lost society. The kind of society that Fascists lick their lips for. A dream come true. How they’ve been waiting. They’ve been patient, I’ll give them that. They have what
they’ve been lusting for. There is essentially ONE PARTY now. What do the NeoCons say? “The Democratic party is a Party of the past.”
They’ve got that one nailed on the head. They did what the Democrats failed to do…Understand the American Public and take advantage of the gift while they had the chance. Timing is everything. You can be behind the times. You can be ahead of the times. The pure marketable
truth is…You have to BE ON TIME. And that they were. Period. Karl Rove understood what many didn’t. He didn’t underestimate the American public. He sized it up for what it was worth: Shot it, skinned it, and nailed it’s sorry hide to the wall. Where does that leave
us, the folks who smelled the scam, fought the fight, and heard the truth? Up shit creek my friends…up shit creek without a paddle. The Idiot Cowboy is dismantling our Social Security, screwing over our Health Care, killing our kids, poisoning our world, forgetting our
elderly, and the list goes on. To those on the fringe. . .The problems have gone beyond saving the spotted owl, wearing fur, and building homes on the edge of the forest. There are bigger fish to fry. Our country is under attack. The owls and seals can wait. We are losing
our country, our freedom, and everything that so many have worked so hard for over the past 100 years. Losing may be too loose a word…how about going, going…GONE.

In one sense I agree with you on how shallow our society is. Dim-witted actors have powerful influences over popular opinion, while the general public obsesses over every detail of these same celebrities’ private lives (I’ve heard more than enough about Mr. and Mrs. Pitt’s separation this week, thank you very much). And anyone who watches those tacky reality TV shows should be publicly flogged. When you think about it, it’s all pretty f****d up. But you don’t make a constructive argument that America has become a country of fascism. And saying thatâ€?the Idiot Cowboy is dismantling our Social Security, screwing over our Health Care, killing our kids, poisoning our world, forgetting our elderly, and the list goes on,” suggests a “6th grade Michael Moore mentalityâ€? (I stole that phrase from “24″ Sunday night), and that you yourself are on the fringe.
January 11th, 2005 at 8:22 am
This is classic bomb throwing liberal mentallity. You make statements like
“dismantling our Social Security, screwing over our Health Care, killing our kids, poisoning our world, forgetting our elderly, and the list goes on,”
Just because you dont care that the current social security will go bankrupt, doesnt mean the cowboy is wrong. The same applies for Health Care, but actually the cowboys Health Care plan was a compromise to the liberals in this country.
Killing our kids, I assume you mean the war, and we all know that someone is either for the war or not.
Republicans are not the party playing the public opinion game anyway. This party is doing the things that might not look good now, but will be better down the road. The Democrats are the party telling people that Bush is stealling the elderly’s Social Security. Telling the poor that Bush is only giving breaks to the rich. I know some of you are going to agree with that, but How do you give a credible tax break in this country if you only give tax cuts to the poor. The poor dont pay taxes in this country.
I dont think everyone should agree with me or even the “cowboy”, But to spread lies and pretend that they are true is irresponsible.
It is sad, MIcheal Moore does believe every word is his stupid movie. So I dont know if he is trying to sway public opinion or just a dumb***.
January 14th, 2005 at 7:24 pm
I can’t say much on the subject because I don’t have a real side on the war. I see the positives and negatives of both sides and haven’t yet come to my own conclusion on th esubject. However, your comments on this were pretty ignorant. Most of them were from personal opinion rather than hard facts, and that doesn’t make you sound too intelligent.
January 17th, 2005 at 2:20 pm
Yikes. While I agree with the basic sentiments expressed here (Neocon fascism, Rove’s fearmongering, complacency among the electorate, etc.), the presentation could use a little help.
No one appreciates the dramatic value of a rant more than I do (i.e. Zell Miller’s Nuremburg tent revival at the RNC), but this is the kind of thing that causes conservatives to view everyone who disagrees with them as crazy hippies screaming at people on street corners.
Good message…it’s just obscured a bit by the frothing rhetoric.
January 18th, 2005 at 2:54 pm
This is certainly a frothing rant. But it is just a regurgitation of left-wing talking points in the same way you accuse the “neocons” of doing on the other side. In reality, to say our culture is obsessed with consumerism and trivial things is to blanket all Americans with the stereotypes. I have lately found renewed faith in humanity based on many things I’ve seen with my own eyes. The United States has supplied more aid and comfort to the tsunami victims than any other country, for example. Americans have donated more money than anybody else and they were not coerced into doing so by the government. Our private donations exceed what other countries have done. That does not sound like we are a collection of self-absorbed, careless jerks. In fact, we are helping the same people who danced in the streets right after 9/11. That says a lot about the character of most Americans.
I find it interesting that liberals, who claim to be compassionate and inclusive, are the most divisive during political discussions. You claim Americans are stupid and Karl Rove is the only person in the country who knew to take advantage of the empty-headed sheep. In reality, things are more complex than ever. The survival of western culture is becoming an issue in Europe as filmmakers are assassinated for criticizing Islam and Jewish schools are burned down in Paris and billions of dollars entrusted to the United Nations for the good of the Iraqi people disappears forever. These are not easy issues to deal with and to dismiss how the United States handles them as part of a “neocon” agenda really underestimates the complexity of international relations and the tactics required of our leaders.
Americans are not stupid. In fact, if they were, the country would have failed long ago. I recommend getting a handle on the facts. Social Security was never designed nor implemented to operate in today’s conditions. Many factors go into why it’s so screwed up, including government mismanagement, retirees living well beyond the age of 65 (unlike when it was first set up), and the ridiculous increase in health care for seniors. Social Security is just an example of something that is always used as an example of an evil conservative agenda. In reality, no matter who is in power, this issue has to be dealt with. Iraq has to be dealt with. Terrorism has to be dealt with. At this point, any action is better than talking it to death until the problem manifests itself into devastation.
I don’t care who is in power as long as they actually do something to solve problems rather than letting them fester for the next administration.
January 18th, 2005 at 4:02 pm
Now that was a well supported statement.
January 19th, 2005 at 8:42 am
Amen!
Seriously, when you say:
“I don’t care who is in power as long as they actually do something to solve problems rather than letting them fester for the next administration.”
I think that is the biggest thing I love about President Bush. He makes the tough decision even when it is unpopular and it will NOT help him politically and he carries it through because after careful consideration he believes it is the thing we must do like it or not. That is rare in a president, and I believe that will help us much more than the harm of someone who dances around issues and keeps passing the buck down the road.
You pay now or you pay later. But sometime or another everyone has to pay.
January 19th, 2005 at 12:46 pm
I want to know if Democrats really believe leaving Social Security alone is the way to go, or they just trying to scare the senior citizens.
Lets face it, everyone in their mid 20s will most likely never see the benefits they paid into Social Security unless changes are made.
January 22nd, 2005 at 8:37 pm
Well, it was a rant, not an in depth look at every aspect of Government. If it were it would be a book. That more than half of the American public voted for the Idiot Cowboy says plenty! Keep on supporting him. I think you might not within the next three years. You say I speak in generalities. How about the Cowboy? Want to dissect his inaugural speech? The President double speaks on all his points. Also, look into PNAC and then at the President’s world view. I could go on and on and on, but the Cowboy supporters don’t get it. They love acting informed, when in fact they are not. Anyone against their hero is a leftist, hippie, wimp, conspiracy theorist, etc. Obviously in a short rant all points are not substantiated, or covered in depth. When you say that Americans aren’t stupid…well, they are…not all…but those who fall for a charlatan like Bush most certaily are. Stupid, gullible, ill- informed, hero worshipping and in coma. Sorry. It needs to be said. Your President, the Idiot Cowboy is a Sociopathic Malignant Egophrenic. Look it up. He needs you like you need him.
January 23rd, 2005 at 5:29 pm
Just the fact that you think everyone that voted for Bush is an idiot just shows what you are. I can disagree with someone politically, without thinking, they are hippies, leftist, or wimps. You still just throw insults without a shred of information to back up what you say. IF the Democrats continue supporting policies that give all taxpayer’s money away on social programs, and are not willing to make dificult changes I will not support them.
Are you saying John Kerry wasnt the king of double talk?
January 24th, 2005 at 8:29 pm
“Keep on supporting him. I think you might not within the next three years.”
WHAT in the world do you think he might do or that might happen that he has not DONE or has not HAPPENDED to suddenly make a Bush supporter suddenly not like Bush’s approach to things???
I think by now a terrorist attack, a war, tons of legislation and a natural disaster pretty much shows everything there is to know about him. By now you either like it or you don’t. There is plenty of information to make up your mind.
So what could you possibly think might trigger this wild change of mind?
January 25th, 2005 at 8:52 am
Hey BewickCory,
I noticed that you said the current U.S. President is not YOUR President. It breaks my heart to see such a respectful individual like your self with this problem. I have heard of others with your point of view finding guidance for their next step in life at this website:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/citizen/howto-e.html
Also, I hear there are no tax cuts in Canada. Why, there is hardly even a military to speak of! Sounds like your idea of paradise. Government spending its citizen’s money for them while relying on other countries to fight your battles for you in case you are ever attacked. But maybe when that happens those pesky right wing Americans will have learned their lesson and know better than to try and meddle in other countries affairs.
Hope things get better for you
Have a nice day!

Seven of the 11 comments were written by the same person. You’ve had your say. Facts to back up my opinion? Again, we are not talking non-fiction Novel here. My opinions are based on knowledge of the facts. Don’t like what I have to say? Fine and dandy. Can’t help you. Everyone has an opinion, including y’all. Opinions are like assholes. . .everyone’s got one. . .including me. When ryanh asks, “what might trigger this wild change of mind?” Well, how about economic meltdown and being bogged down in Mid East wars until it effects YOU. If the Bush Admibnistration is your cup of tea, I’ve got no problem with it. But a little knowledge of what is going on behind the scenes and a love for this country should be enough to prevent it. As far as your “love it or leave it” hints. I’d rather stay and fix it. No one like you will make me go heels up. I’ll be your huckleberry.

Doc,
I see four posts by Joey, three posts by ryanh, and three additional posts by Berwie, nowhere near the “Seven of the 11 comments that you spoke of (there were twelve comments up to that point, by the way). Anyway, the fact that your math doesn’t add up doesn’t really make any difference. That isn’t really what I want to address here . . .
I just wanted to ask what behind the scenes information you have been privy to that the rest of American has not? I had no idea Bewick from Tennessee was invited to the planning meetings
And I don’t think ryanh was hinting much . . . he pretty much said Canada was a liberal place. Seeing as how everything is perfect there, we should definitely model our system after theirs. It’s what happens after guys like you try to “fix things that aren’t broken to start off with. Is our system perfect? No, no system is. But it is a heck of a lot better than what you people make it out to be. Has the government ever sent secret spies into your house and drug you off to jail because you have disagreed with its policies? Have you ever had the neighborhood monitor walk around your windows to make sure you were listening to Bush’s radio address? Have you ever heard ol’ Idiot Cowboy say that the American people were too stupid to do things on their own and needed the government to take their money and use it for them in the correct ways? Has you or anyone you known been killed or imprisoned by the secret police for the sole reason that they were of a different politically ideology, race, or religion? Before you go off spouting that Bush is a Nazi, try studying the way the Nazi system actually worked! I don’t mind having a discussion with someone about what is the best way to shape policy, or whether we should change things up and try something new, but this flaming name calling will earn people who make your arguments no respect. You do yourself and you ideology a disservice.
