The Half-Blood Prince hits Barnes and Noble
On July 16, 2005, J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince hit the bookshelves across America, and the globe.
For fun, I decided to go up to the closest Barnes and Noble here in Dallas, TX to shoot the event–and an event it was. There were at least 500 people there waiting to get their grubby little hands on the book, myself included. It was like something out of the Willy Wonka movie. You’d think all these kids were waiting in line for a chance at getting a golden ticket. Somewhere around 1:45 a.m., I finally was able to get my copy. We promptly left. I’ve included this picture along with the story so you could glimpse the madness.

You could have probably went to walmart and got it faster. I saw a bunch of copies here in ruston, but this is Ruston.
How many books on Potter are there now.

my grandmother told me, that they have the books at just about every grocery store, but the barnes and noble thing, was to take pictures, and to see all the freaks dressed up as harry potter and stuff. Just like camping out at a star wars premier.

Anybody see Jimmy Kimmell Friday night?
He had video of some guy trying to read the “surprise” ending to random kids at the local bookstore.
The kids subsequently covered their ears and became hysterical for fear of having the ending ruined.
Hilarious!

No, I don’t think I even know who that is, the name rings a bel, but I’m the type of person, that unless if I see or hear about the person often, then I tend to forget about them and what the look like. I assume he’s a comedian, but I can’t place him to a single memory right now.

He has a late night show on ABC, opposite Leno and Letterman.
He hosted the Man Show on Comedy Central.
Also the guy behind Crank Yankers.

well… I don’t watch too many comedians… the late night shows I stick to is usually Conan O’Brian… fear factor, or the fifth wheel… retarded stuff like that.

really the 5th wheel is the only retarded thing of those three.

I like watching those dating shows… because it shows you how trashy some people are. I mean if your that type of person then thats fine… but a lot of the time those people are messed up, and just want to get laid.

I haven’t read one of those damned books and could care less. I just enjoy a different type of reading.

I like different types, just not really into the childhood fantasies of wizards, witches, etc.
