The Cows Are Going Mad

June 12th, 2005

The U.S. Department of Agriculture has confirmed that a recent test performed on a Cow in the U.S. has has tested positive for “BSE”, or Mad Cow Disease.

The governmentis being curiously tight-lipped about this discovery and hasn’t yet released any other details about this cow. This discovery comes at at ime when Agriculture Department officials have been pressing Japan and Korea to resume buying beef from the United States. Japan and Korea were major buyers of American beef up until late 2003 when a cow from Washington State was found to have the disease.

Who can blame those countries? I’m wondering what kind of affect this will have on the local beef market, much less the foreign market. I have even considered switching away from beef.

Have you seen the prices of Beef in the super market?

If a little ‘ole outbreak of madcows disease can drop the prices, that would be great!

I would be the first one in line if walmart put up a bin that said “Discounted Mad Mounds Of Meat!”

Just deep fry that puppy and she will be fine!

I agree, Prices drop, and I make my beef look like charcoal anyway. So I figure I am good to go.

If you really want an eye-opener in terms of just how quickly and easily disease can be transmitted amongst livestock and subsequently passed on to humans, read Fast Food Nation by Eric Schlosser.

Aside from making some very strong indictments of the fast food corporations’ business practices, Schlosser illustrates how the current methods of raising & processing livestock in this country are very risky from a public health standpoint.

I’m not trying to be alarmist or attempting to change anyone’s eating habits…I just thought it was a great book that touched on several points we often don’t hear about.

I have always heard, that if someone went to where they process chickens you would not want to eat those anymore either.

We have a sense of security (right or wrong) in this country because of the FDA, but we really never really know.

Every so often when I but a hamburger from a fast food restuarant I notice it causes me to get sick (ill spare details).

It makes me wonder how well they really are cooked and processed.

Does anyone else have the same thing happen to them?

I had a friend that worked at McDonalds. He told me they had him cooking the burgers without really telling how to do it. He said he undercooked them for about half a day, before finally the manager showed him he was doing it wrong. The manager said it wasnt a huge deal, that the ppl shouldnt get too sick.

That does not surprise me at all. One time at Burger King I purchased 2 burgers and they were only “browned” on the outside.

When I went back they said their grill was not acting right and offered to put them back on the grill for me.

I felt brave, so I only forced the issue into getting 2 new burgers.

I tend to stick to fried fish and chicken sandwiches hoping/beliveing the frying process is safer.

On bewickcory’s profile it says age 54…. on Beewickcory’s profile it says age 51…. so which is it… the profiles are too different… I think this beewickcory is a phony… either he is lying about being the same bewickcory, or the whole bewickcory as we know is a phony and has made up all of his information… idk whats going on, but this is sad that a person has to lie about who they are, and their opinions. Just speak the truth!

Yes, from time to time, I’ll get a little “sick” from fast food. But I get that from just about anything from time to time. Can be too much grease, something I haven’t eaten in a while… or the ocassional undercooked meal. Of course, I think, like most of us… I tend to send something back or get a refund if my meal is under or over cooked.

Bunch of babies!!! Live a little!

I used to eat meat well done.. not i eat mediup well… becasuse well done is usally over cooked, and medium well, is usually well done.. the way its supossed to be. I am a very sad person… I have a fear of raw meat, that is slowly going away… I’m able to eat sushi now…. due to ramdac, but can’t eat bloody meat… thats really nasty

    Ditto,

I do the EXACT same thing for the EXACT same reason :)

Common American mistake though, Sushi is not raw fish :) I used to think the same thing. My fiancee is from Japan and vigorously corrects me on this.

However, REAL raw fish from Japan ROCKS! It is NOT AT ALL what you find in those chinese restaurants in America. You can also find really good uncooked fish in some more expensive restaurants. It is VERY flavorful and melts in your mouth! I had it for the first time about 2 months ago and was shocked. One bite and I was hooked!

WOW! I notice that RAMDUCK closed the thread dealing with BEEWICK. I knew that Ramdac was the culprit all along. He insisted that he wasn’t going to pull the BEEWICK comments. . .then he did! I guess no one likes statements being atrributed to them by an imposter. . .no matter how trivial. It’s the point of the matter. It’s strange that Ramdac could find Dr. Rene’s ISP as well as the real (deceased) Bewick, but NOT BEEWICKS. I guess, like George W. Bush. . .censorship is ok when protecting the guilty.

  21. anonymous said:

    June 18th, 2005 at 10:57 am

I see that Ramdac has pulled “a first” and pulled the plug on a thread. Why is he so jumpy about a lawsuit? I don’t think that he can be sued for misrepresentation of a person’s name, can he? I notice that if you Google Beewick there are numerous comments relating to the Ramdac Site. I think that people could easily confuse the real Bewick with the fake BEEWICK. With a book by the real Bewick to be published next year by a major publisher. . . Anyway, I too think that Ramdac is BEEWICK. If the real Bewick were alive today, he would be laughing his ass off. It almost seems like he reached out from the grave. Peace out.

  22. Joey said:

    June 18th, 2005 at 11:53 am

Ramdac had promised not to delete Beewick’s comments, he never promised not to close a thread. It also isnt the first time that he had done it.

So Dr. Marlon Rene, why play games the way you have. It has become obvious that you are the “culprit” of Anonyomous, Joshh, and Beewick. All the comments are made by the same person.

When the post came about his death, most of the comments were respectful, and nothing else was said, So dr. Marlon it is you who are making a mockery of your own friends memory not the snide college boys you like to talk about.

When exactly was a lawsuit threatened? The words were. . .”we will deal with this in another way.” Not lawsuit! That’s silly! Thanks Josh for the beautiful piece on Ramdac (BEEWICK) that you have on your site. It goes well with the Japs in a Jar. Dr. Rene is going to be in Baton Rouge on July 6. Would you care to lunch with him?

  28. anonymous said:

Cows Gone Mad! I thought that it was an excellent title also. Let’s put some truth together here, OK? I am Dr. Marlon Rene (a Doctorate in Anthropology). I AM NOT Bewick Cory. I was Bewick’s best friend and someone who I met while doing research about the Mayoruna Indians. Yes he did use my computer while over at my place in Nashville. We used to get such a kick out of you guys. He was over here alot while planning his trip to Brazil. The central point here is being lost. BEEWICK is NOT Bewick. Every now and them I read the Ramdac articles, when lo-and-behold, there was someone posting Bewick like comments using the name BEEWICK Cory! Though it seems trivial, no one wants their name used under false pretense. Neither does Josh or Chris. Just making a point. It’s wrong to do. Bewick is not here to defend himself, so I will. Bewick was in fact killed. Believe me, if he were alive he wouldn’t be afraid to wade in here! As for the ever snide Josh. . .Too much time on your hands? I’ll be damned if it isn’t Josh who actually spent HIS time making what is damn near a website for BEEWICK CORY. . .yet he uses facts from the real Bewick Cory….(who would have been 55 this past May) facts such as ocuupation, likes, etc. That is wrong. I certainly can’t imagine Bewick, or myself going to such great lengths about Josh. I can’t believe that a dead Bewick Cory can cause such a stir in the Little Hen House known as Ramdac.org. Also. . .still. . .why won’t Ramdac come clean about the ISP on BEEWICK Cory? There is no doubt that you fellows are enamoured and intrigued by Bewick - that shows in all the effort surrounding the comments section and Josh’s unbelievable tribute on his Website. Josh goofing on a dead man, who died trying to help a people forgotten by most. Don’t any of you feel silly? And yes. . .I would like to know who BEEWICK is myself.

    Dr. Marlon Rene

    Sorry Dr. Marlon,

    When you say:
“Too much time on your hands? I’ll be damned if it isn’t Josh who actually spent HIS time making what is damn near a website for BEEWICK CORY.”

I made the “tribute”. It took about 4 minutes. I thought it was obvious since my name was on the post. Really though, it is a tribute and I think Bewick would like it. I don’t mind sparing a few minutes of my time to commemorate a quality individual like bewick. Besides, it was fun to do while waiting for the rain to stop.

Also, and I am serious about this, I WILL be in Baton Rouge on July 6th visiting my sister and friends. If you are interested, I would like to meet up with you to hear about your anthropology work in Brazil. It sounds fascinating. There are a few restaurants off of Siegan lane. What do you think?

What a temper Mr. Ramduck has. Calling Mr. Rene an idiot. You, sir, are the one beginning to look like the idiot. I have been following this debate (?) and it seems to me like someone here is trying to use a dead man to stir up some controversy. I noticed that you pulled up everyone’s ISP but BEEwicks. Why is that?

Let it go cocksucker. Everyone knows BEEwick isn’t the same person as “Bewick Cory” and I don’t think he pretends to be.

As for any lawsuit attempt — good luck. I’ve been runnning this thing for years. Think this is the first go around for me?

    I’m closing this thread–it’s annoying.

DOES ANYONE HERE HAVE A BAR OF SOAP?
This type of language says much about a man. It is odd that the person who runs this site would drag it into the gutter like this. What is going on here?

This thing will be solved soon, Ramdac will figure it all out, and then you’ll all feel like idiots, or look back at this in a few months and think how retarded this all is and how funny we all seem. It might take a while but until you can clear everyone’s name… no one will find out who the real imposture(s) are.

    BTW, I love the website:
