Man Loses Testicle

February 12th, 2005

Danny Curtis of Bakersfield, California, is suing the hospital that “wrongfully” removed one of his testicles during surgery. His surgeon was Dr. Albert McBride at Kern Medical Center. A testicular tumor was found while in surgery, and the doctor removed the testicle without conducting a biopsy. Later, the tumor was found to be benign and the testicle did not need to be removed.

Curtis’ lawsuit claims he “has been caused to sustain severe and permanent physical and emotional injuries, including but not limited to the loss of [his] testicle, as well as residual disfigurement, scarring and pain.”

The hospital and surgeon have declined all comments relating to the matter. All questions and answers are being deferred to their attorney, Robert Woods.

Ya, it does suck. I feel bad for the guy, but it makes me laugh thinking of a one testicle man. If I were dating a man like that, it wouldn’t bother me, but its just funny to picture in your head…!?!?! I know it sounds creepy.

I’ve heard of this mistake being made before, not just of tumors or cancers found in testicles, but in penis’. I guess its pretty common not to test the growth. The doctors probably think it’s better to remove it just in case if it is cancerous. In the meanwhile, the patient is under thinking, he’ll wake up with all his parts, testicle, penis, or wahtever else still there. I can understatnd the doctor wanting to be careful just incase, but he just doesn’t picture the outcome if its not cancerous.

I was talking to a few friends of mine about this subject earlier . . . .

One guy remembers a friend from his church youth group when he was younger . . . .

    He was called Uno . . .

My firiend (also named Josh) asked a couple of the youth group kids why the boy has named Uno. Apparently, when he was a child, he was attacked by a goose. And, well, yeah . . . .

Now THAT is my definition of a bad day.
