Mabey morale is low… Back in the day they had actors and comedians go in to show support for the troops. I can’t recall any names at the moment but recently they’ve sent out people like Toby Keith and Alan jackson.
It may not just be the morale that gets the soldiers down but just the fact of being there is depressing. Many soldiers regret joing soon after deployment. If it were my decision I wouldn’t try to kill myself but injure myself, or like in the old TV serious M.A.S.H. pretend I was homosexual…

All the negative press at home telling them they are fighting for a lie can’t be helping the matters either.
“We support you but think your mission is bunk” = “You are risking your life in vain.”

I think that if you don’t believe in a cause then don’t support it at all, but if you do then go all out for it. Your voice won’t get heard otherwise.
