Mother charged with killing new son

December 22nd, 2003

Irma Pavlis
Irma Pavlis, seen here, is a killer. She and her husband spent a year learning Russian so that by the time they had finally adopted a Russian Brother and sister, they would be able to communicate.
It seems that after only a month Alex, the boy, has died due to a blunt force trauma to the head.

From CNN:

Irma Pavlis admitted that she struck her son, Alex, on several occasions, police Lt. Dennis Carroll said.

Carroll said Pavlis, 32, called 911 Thursday afternoon to report that the boy was not breathing. He died Friday evening at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood. The cause of death was blunt head trauma, the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

Talk about sickening. I am speechless.

I wonder if I can BFT her to death… People who kill children deserve to suffer the same fate they inflict. A child can not defend himself against an adult… *goes and grabs a river stone from her desk* Lemme at ‘er!

It probably happened because the adoptive mother was grossly unprepared for adopting older children who probably have a Reactive Attachment Disorder. One year of learning Russian is only 1% of the work that needed to be done.

    Reactive Attachemnt Disorder:

“Basically, because they have abused and emotionally damaged, they have
severe difficulty with forming a bond with a primary caregiver. They have
never had the opportunity to form a bond with a caregiver before.”

(I quoted someone else from another forum…as she is right….this is probably the case)

Boys are said to act out a great deal after being adopted, while girls tend to withdraw. Sounds like that is what happened in this case.

The children were also led to believe that America is “Disneyland”. Not so. They are adoptees in a new land. Lots of work still needs to be done once they get here, ESP if they are older (older than 2 yrs old). They are NOT newborn infants BORN to these people.

Many adopt from overseas so that they do not have to “deal” with birthparents. They probably specifically avoided an open adoption.

This couple also did a private adoption with no Counseling from an agency. There are A LOT of issues to face BEFORE adopting. I do not think they had a clue, nor did they face those issues….one being Infertility.

(Trust me, I am not siding with this woman…I am horrified….but, yet….not surprised….this was a tragedy waiting to happen. It happened Now.

I have worked in the Open Adoption arena for 18 years. This is just the first time its come out like this.

Adoptive parents who do not want to deal with their own issues, in the end, often have it come back to bite them in the butt, if they are lucky. If not lucky? Situations similar can occur.

I hope they USE this tragedy to STOP such grossly unprepared people and make them “get prepared”. Adoption is not the same as having ones own child, one born to them.

    This Holiday Season:

    I forgot to say:

I know I will be thinking of the little 5 year old girl, who was Not killed by Irma, the adoptive mother, this holiday season.

Alex is gone, but She is still with us. I hope she goes to a family very soon who speaks her language so they can EXPLAIN what the hell is going on. She must be scared to death right now. I wish I knew her name.

    …..

I will also be thinking about the 4 “Jackson” boys who were recently rescued from their adoptive home in NJ.

The 4 were starved, collectively weighing 136 lbs when taken into protective custody.
The boys range from 9 to 19 years old.

These adoptive parents I do harbor resentment towards. Why? They only adopted so as to collect money. They fed other children in the house, but not these four. Some of them ate wallboard to survive.

The “parents” claimed the boys had eating disorders and that is why they looked as they did. If so then why are they gaining massive weight so quickly now? The 19 year old has also grown 3 inches.

I hope the careful documenting of these boys cases (and how they are gaining weight rapidly now) will put these two, Raymond and Vanessa Jackson, away for a long, long time.

The Judge in this case Rocks: he said the adoptive parents would not get their request for visits with the boys this Christmas. The judge said he does not want anything to impede their progress of gaining weight. Maybe the judge will see to it that the boys are safe….now and in the future.

    Sorry for the rant.

it has not been proved yet that she did it. alex had behavioral problems that are not being mentioned. he would wipe his feces all over the couch, walls and face. he would get upset and throw tantrums and hit his head an the floor or wall and would scratch his face until he bled. nobody knows if he had any medical problems, the russian adoption agency did not say that it was an adoption agency for kids with problems. alot of them were born t mothers who did drugs smoked and drank. nobody has the right to say that they wished they can kill or beat her until they know the whole story!!!!!
